Student Scholarship Award
1. Award Description
The Student Scholarship Award is given to students who have excelled academically and demonstrate outstanding attributes associated with scholarship. This scholarship is intended to help deserving ACEI student members develop and explore their professional goals by receiving financial assistance to attend the 2016 Global Summit on Childhood in San Jose, Costa Rica from 31 March – 3 April. Two award recipients will receive complimentary registration and a scholarship of $1,000 USD each.
2. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be ACEI members for at least 1 year at the time of submission.
Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students enrolled in a degree-granting education program, and must demonstrate an interest in teaching professional education.
Applicants must be able to attend the entire Summit and submit a (1-2 page) report of their participation and observations at the Summit within one month after the Summit.
Applicants must be able to pay for additional costs not covered by the scholarship. Applicants are responsible for costs incurred for meals, room service and incidentals, sightseeing, etc.
3. Selection Criteria/Process
Applicants will be evaluated using the following criteria:
Demonstration of strong scholastic achievement.
Demonstrated interest in teaching professional education or pursuing a career within a related occupation that focuses on the education and well-being of children.
Demonstration of high potential for assuming a leadership role in the childhood education and/or development sectors.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted. The decision of the selection committee is final and not subject to a review process. Students may only apply for one award per year. For example, if you are applying for a Student Scholarship Award, you cannot also apply for a Student Leadership Award.
