Negotiation Skills: Mastering the Essentials of Education Diplomacy

7-week online course

Next course to be offered in Spring 2019.

Eager to start applying Education Diplomacy principles? This course shows you how to start applying the concepts in the real world.

You will learn:
• A practical process for negotiation, a critical component of the 5L Education Diplomacy Framework
• How to apply negotiation tactics and strategies in a group setting
• How to create common ground across conflicting interests.

Choose this course if:
• You want to start taking action right away
• You are actively advancing education through partnerships, collaborations, and coalitions.

This 7-week online course requires approximately 5-7 hours per week, including an hour per week of real time, whole-class discussion. A 2-week final project takes you through a simulation of a group negotiation.

This course may be applied toward a Diploma in Social Innovation from UPEACE.

Do you need a strong foundation in Education Diplomacy because you want to promote cooperation across sectors and stakeholders to solve education challenges?

This course will focus on:
• Diplomatic Foundation of Education Diplomacy
• Education Diplomacy as New Diplomacy
• State and Non-State Cooperation through Education Diplomacy
• How Education Diplomacy contributes to solving education challenges.

This 10-week online course requires approximately 5-7 hours per week, including an hour per week of real time, whole-class discussion.

This course may be applied toward a Diploma in Social Innovation from UPEACE.

• You need the foundations for Education Diplomacy for practical application as a ministry or diplomacy official, representative of an international organization, staff member of an NGO, or a faculty member of a university or research institution.
